23 Things - Assignment #5

Well, this was interesting. A little challenging, but eventually I managed to put the icons below my address bar. I have posted 2 articles of interest.
  • One is about adult literacy and the dwindling workforce of trained workers.
  • The other is about the rising number of deaths by police taser.

23 Things - Assignment #4

I found that when I uploaded the image from Google, the face was blocked out. This may be because of copyright. However, I used this to my advantage and turned it into a milk ad.

23 Things - Assignment #3

I set up only one new website on this assignment - The Weather Network, but I wasn't able to open Toronto Star homepage, which has RSS among its headers. The screen froze several times on several different occasions and I finally gave up. Globe and Mail is my other favourite site, but they don't have a RSS icon. I have chosen several from amongst the listed sites on bloglines, but I don't know that I would use them regularly.

This is my holiday hideaway, one and a half acres on the edge of a conservation area, with a babbling brook for sound effects . On the upside, there is a satellite dish if I wanted TV service. On the downside, I have to drive 10 kms. for a cell phone signal.

23 Things Assignment # 2

We are 'reading' our books.

My sister has quite a taste for fiction.

23 Things Assignment #1

I guess if I'd known that blogging was this easy, I'd have done it a while ago, although I'm not sure how blogging will be useful to me. I'm sure to find out over the next ten weeks though.

I find that this type of new technology is stimulating and entertaining to me and I look forward to the other things that I will learn over the coming weeks. I also hope to share this knowledge with my colleagues in the Literacy Department.

What do people normally blog about? Should there be a theme or is it just a way to vent?
